FAQS

What are the general items that I`ll need to have on hand?

1.) Diaper Pail – Can be as simple as a kitchen garbage can with lid.
2.) 2 pail liners – For lining the diaper pail. Good to have one to use and one to wash.
3.) Wet bag(s) – great for traveling and on the go.
4.) Cloth wipes – Not a necessity but it makes sense and makes it easy since you can just throw them in the wash with the diapers.  Why not save more money?
5.) Wipes solution – great for keeping baby smelling fresh.  Could use a couple of drops of baby wash in water.
6.) Diaper Sprayer – Great for spraying off the messy diapers and helps reduce staining.
7.) Washable fleece liners or flushable liners – Both items make for getting poo out of the diaper easier, give less chance for diaper stains, and give protection to the diaper when using diaper creams.
Fleece liners are washable and allow poo to roll off easier than typical diaper inners. They are also nice for allowing urine to pass through to the absorbant layer underneath and keep wetness away from baby.
Flushable liners, give protection to the diaper by way of a thin strip of material that is flushable. So just flip the diaper over the toilet allowing the liner and poo to drop in and then flush away.
8.) A detergent for cleaning your dipes.

How often will I need to change? And how many diapers will I need?

Approximate amount of times baby will be changed over 2 - 3 day period.
Newborns to around 3 months old : 24-36 changes
3 months to approx. 12 months: 20-24 changes
12 months to potty training 16-20 changes

So… washing every 2-3 days here is a general idea of what you will need based on the style of diapers you want to use.
